Chr. Christodoulou - Governor of Central Bank

President Clerides yesterday announced that Mr. Christodoulos Christodoulou has been appointed as the new Governor of the Central Bank of Cyprus in succession to Mr. Afxentis Afxentiou. Mr. Christodoulou’s successor as Minister of Interior will be announced next Thursday, and until such time Minister of Justice & Public Order Mr. Nicos Koshis will head the Ministry of Interior.

Following the announcement of his appointment, Mr. Christodoulou thanked President Clerides for the honour bestowed on him and underlined his determination to succeed in his new post in the light of Cyprus’ imminent accession to the European Union.
