Economy recorded an impressive 12.8% growth rate in Q2

The economy of Cyprus grew by an impressive 12.8% in the second quarter of 2021, the Statistical Service reported Tuesday.

“According to the Flash Estimate compiled by the Statistical Service, the GDP growth rate in real terms during the second quarter of 2021 is positive and it is estimated at 12.8% over the corresponding quarter of 2020”, Cystat announced.

It added that based on seasonally and working day adjusted data, GDP growth rate in real terms is estimated at 12.9%.

The positive GDP growth rate is mainly attributed to the following sectors: hotels and restaurants, construction, manufacturing, transport, storage and communication, wholesale and retail trade, repair of motor vehicles, arts, entertainment and recreation, other service activities.
