Industrial output prices up 11.5% in April 2023

The Index of Industrial Output Prices for April 2023 recorded an increase of 11.5% compared to the same month of the previous year, according to a press release by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

For the period of January to April 2023, the index showed a growth of 16.1% compared to the corresponding period in 2022.

In April 2023, compared to March 2023, the index remained stable in the electricity supply sector, while it increased by 0.2% in the mining and quarrying sectors, as well as in manufacturing. However, there was a decrease of 0.6% in the water supply and materials recovery sector.

Compared to the same month of the previous year, there was an increase in the electricity supply sector (28.9%), mining and quarrying sector (17.9%), and manufacturing sector (7.2%), while there was a decrease of 10.2% in the water supply and materials recovery sector.

In terms of manufacturing divisions, in April 2023 compared to the same month of the previous year, there were increases in the production of other non-metallic mineral products (18.2%), paper and paper products, and printing (9.1%), food products and beverages (8.8%), furniture manufacturing, other manufacturing, and repair and installation of machinery and equipment (7.4%), as well as in the production of refined petroleum products, chemicals and chemical products, and pharmaceutical products and preparations (5.0%). On the other hand, there was a decrease in the production of basic metals and fabricated metal products (-2.0%).
