Industrial turnover index climbs to the highest level since August 2019

Cyprus Industrial Turnover Index in July 2021 rose by an annual 15.1% reaching its highest level since August 2019, that is before the Covid pandemic.

According to data released by the Statistical Service of Cyprus (Cystat) the index in July reached 151.3 units (base 2015=100), while the period January-June 2021, the index recorded an increase of 10.6% compared to the corresponding period of 2020.

The July reading is the highest ever recorded for the month of July.

Furthermore, in manufacturing, the Industrial Turnover Index for June 2021 reached 176 units, recording an increase of 25.3% compared to June 2020.

Increases were also noted in the sectors of mining and quarrying (7.0%), electricity supply (27.5%) and water supply and materials recovery (44.7%), Cystat added.
