Interior Minister Nouris presented Cyprus as “ideal business destination”

The Cypriot government’s initiatives and policies to attract foreign companies to the island were presented at a London conference by the Minister of Interior of the Republic of Cyprus Nicos Nouris on Monday morning.

Addressing an audience of professionals and investment experts at the ‘Business Orientation: Cyprus 2022’ conference, Nouris said that during another year of challenges Cyprus is “confident that the new initiatives and policies to attract business and talents are creating real new opportunities for Cyprus.”

He reiterated that the Cypriot government and the Interior Ministry “will continue to work tirelessly to promote Cyprus as the ideal destination for the establishment and growth of a company.”

He summarised as the government’s priorities the reduction of bureaucracy by adopting fast-track and smooth procedures, and the broadening of effectiveness,, digitalisation and optimisation.

In his detailed presentation Minister Nouris highlighted the successful function of the Business Facilitation Unit, the tax incentives and the revised migration policies for international business, the fast-track process for issuing planning permits and for strategic investments, as well as the trustworthiness of the Cypriot real estate market.

He also referred to the regeneration on Nicosia’s inner city, the upgrading of Cyprus’s Trade Centres in dozens of countries, the acceleration of the ‘green transition’ through renewable energy projects, as well as the enhancement of Cyprus’s energy connectivity and the liberalisation of its energy market.
