Parties must hold a meeting for the economy

Right-wing DISY via its spokesman, Haris Georgiades, stressed once again that all parties should hold a meeting for the economy, after the triple downgrade of the Republic by Fitch.

Although Mr. Georgiades avoided entering in details, he stressed that it is not the time for a dispute on economic issues but all interested parties should meet to find the necessary solutions.

The spokesman stressed the need for unity. “Now that the parliamentary elections are over and there is no fear for a political cost, the government, the political parties, the social partners and the organizations must find solutions to the structural problems of our economy”, he said.

“We have to put an end to the inactiveness with the preparation of an action plan and all the necessary measures must be taken”, he said.

“During the meeting, the government must propose specific measures”, he concluded.
