Pilides: Cypriot businesses show huge resilience in external challenges

The Cypriot business world not only continues unabated but shows huge resilience in external challenges, Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Natasa Pilides has said.

Addressing the 60th Annual Meeting of the Limassol Chamber of Commerce, Pilides praised the role of the business activity in economy, stressing that the future lies in the green transition.

“The business world returns to normalcy despite the challenges brought about by the war in Ukraine and not only continues unabated but shows a huge resilience vis a vis external challenges,” she said.

Noting that exports continue rising, Pilides added “we believe that the sectors of services and industry has huge prospects.” The Commerce Minister also pointed out that in two years the industry’s contribution to Cyprus’ GDP has reached 8.5% from about 7.5%.

She said she is certain that the Limassol Chamber’s members with their initiatives and hard work has contributed significantly to these encouraging growth rates.
