Retail trade up in first half of 2019

Retail trade volume and value recorded an increase in the first six months of this year, provisional estimates published by the Cyprus Statistical Service show.

In particular, on the basis of the Statistical Service’s provisional estimates, the turnover volume index of retail trade for June 2019 was up by 2.4% compared to the June 2018, reaching 127.7 units (base 2015=100).
 
For the period January - June 2019 the index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 2.5% compared to the same period last year, the Statistical Service says.

According to the provisional data, the turnover value index of retail trade for June 2019 marginally increased by 0.1% compared to the June 2018 reaching 124.4 units (base 2015=100).

For the period January - June 2019 the index is estimated to have recorded an increase of 2.1% compared to the same period of 2018.
