03/03/2005 14:22
According to CYSTAT data released on Thursday, the prices of the consumer goods and services in February 2005 showed an increase of 2.8% against the corresponding month of 2004. The de-escalation of inflation to 2.95% in January 2005 and 4.2% in December 2004 follows the latest Central Bank decision for a drop in interest rates by 25 base points.

The Consumer Price Index recorded an increase from 118.72 points in January to 118.75 points in February due to the increase in the price of fuel and medical care. Prices were restrained by the drop in call rates. For January-February 2005, the annual inflation stood at 2.88%.
