The cooperation between Cyprus and Israel is of geostrategic importance, creates immense prospects for the two countries, their peoples and the region and expresses the vision for peace, stability and collective security, Cyprus President, Nicos Anastasiades, wrote in the Visitors Book at the Presidential Palace in Israel, which he signed on Tuesday morning.
According to a press release issued by the Presidency, Anastasiades went in the morning to the Presidential Palace, in Jerusalem, where he was welcomed by the President of the State of Israel, Isaac Herzog. The meeting took place ahead of the Trilateral Summit between Cyprus, Greece and Israel that will take place later today.
Upon his arrival to the Presidential Palace, President Anastasiades signed the Visitors` Book. Writing in the Book, Anastasiades, among others, wished Herzog a successful and fruitful term of office, and assured of his firm attachment to continuing their cooperation with a view to reach new levels of a powerful cooperation between Cyprus and Israel.
Moreover, he wrote that this cooperation is of geostrategic importance and "has immense prospects for our countries, our peoples and the region, and expresses the vision for peace, stability and collective security."
Anastasiades also referred to the family ties which the new President of Israel has with Cyprus, since his ancestors are closely connected with the island.
