FM travels to Romania and Bulgaria

Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides travels on Monday to Romania on a working visit. After Romania the Minister will visit Bulgaria to take part in the 126th Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe and hold contacts with some of his counterparts.

In the framework of his visit to Romania, Kasoulides will have a meeting and a working lunch with his Romanian counterpart Lazar Comanescu on Tuesday, an official press release said.

The agenda of the meeting includes, inter alia, the Cyprus-Romania relations, the Cyprus problem, migration, terrorism, Eastern Partnership and regional issues of common interest.

The two Ministers will sign a bilateral agreement for the 10th Executive Programme for Cultural, Educational and Scientific Cooperation.

Kasoulides will be also received by Prime Minister Dacian Ciolos.

Following his visit to Romania, the Cypriot Minister of Foreign Affairs will travel to Sofia, Bulgaria to take part in the 126th Session of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe, organized by the Bulgarian Presidency on May 17 and 18.

The main topic on the agenda is the democratic security for all in Europe in challenging times and securing the long-term effectiveness of the system of the European Convention on Human Rights.

On the sidelines of the Session, the Minister will hold a series of bilateral meetings with some of his counterparts from other Member States of the Organization.
