President Anastasiades addresses EP plenary in Strasbourg

The President of the Republic, Nicos Anastasiades, flies today to Strasbourg, where he will address on Wednesday the European Parliament plenary session on the Future of Europe.

According to a press release issued by the Presidency, President Anastasiades will meet with the President of the European Parliament Antonio Tajani in the morning of 12 December, at the European Parliament, and later on, in the presence of the President of the European Commission Jean Claude Juncker, he will address the plenary. The President will then receive questions by the MEPs.

Later on, President Tajani, in the presence of the Cypriot President, will award to the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov the Sakharov Prize.

Following the award ceremony, President Tajani will host a luncheon in honour of President Anastasiades.

The President of the Republic will be accompanied in Strasbourg by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Christodoulides, the Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou and the Deputy Minister to the President Vasilis Palmas

The President of the Republic will then leave Strasbourg for Brussels where he will participate in the EU Summit.
