The major issues in today’s financial press are the submission of the public offer for the acquisition of 100% of Emporiki Bank by the Bank of Cyprus and the British tourist reservations.

The “Economy” inset of newspaper “Phileleftheros” refers to the submission of a public offer by the Bank of Cyprus for the acquisition of 100% of Emporiki Bank. According to the report, this bid together with the acquisition of 6% of the Bank of Cyprus by Piraeus Bank are expected to change things in the Greek and Cypriot banking sector.

Elsewhere the newspaper reports that the date for the lunch of the common CSE-ASE platform will be determined in mid July.

The “Economy” inset of newspaper “Simerini” refers to the British tourist reservations. According to AC Nielsen Stats-Mr, the reservations in April recorded a drop of 15% for summer and 51% for winter 2006-2007.

“Simerini” also refers to the tests in the CSE in view of the launch of the common CSE-ASE platform.

The “Economy” inset of newspaper “Alithia” refers to the submission of BOC’s public offer for the acquisition of 100% of Emporiki Bank.

The newspaper also refers to the Greek press reports on the Bank of Cyprus’ bid for the acquisition of Emporiki Bank.

“Politis” and “Haravgi” doe not contain a financial inset.
