Cyprus Police fined 4 establishment owners and 13 citizens in a total of 1,684 checks island-wide for COVID violations.
In Nicosia Police carried out 224 checks and fined 3 establishment owners and 5 citizens, in Limassol in a total of 209 checks fines were issued against 2 citizens and in Larnaka the Police fined 1 establishment and 3 citizens in 509 checks.
Two citizens were fined in Paphos during 110 checks and in Famagusta the Police conducted 390 checks and fined one citizen.
No violations were detected in 99 checks in Morphou and in 143 checks by the traffic department.
The fines in Nicosia were issued because employees did not carry a safepass. Two establishments were fined with 500 euro and one with 1,500.
In Larnaka a supermarket was fined with 750 euro for failing to check its customers for a safepass.
