Four departures and four arrivals scheduled at Larnaca Airport

Four departures and four arrivals are taking place today at Larnaca Airport, which reopened on May 9, following a ban on flights to and from Cyprus on March 21, due to COVID-19 pandemic.

The four departures are to Athens (two), Sofia and Doha, while the arrivals come from Athens (two), Sofia and Doha.

Shortly after four in the morning, a repatriation flight from Johannesburg landed at Larnaca Airport. Cyprus Airways will also make repatriation flights to and from Doha today.

Safety and hygiene measures taken at Larnaca airport to prevent the transmission of COVID-10 are very strict, as no one is allowed to enter the airport except passengers and staff.

Regarding the reopening of hotels in Cyprus ,the Paphos Hoteliers Association is concerned about the situation as it has developed after the pandemic.

Ten hotel units are expected to reopen by the end of June, in Pafos District, according to the president of the Pafos Hoteliers Association, Thanos Michaelides.

Michaelides said that so far three hotel accommodations are operating in Pafos District, however, by the end of the month, ten hotels will be operational.

Michaelides explained, that everything will depend on the arrivals from Pafos airport, since so far two flights are expected on June 21 from Thessaloniki and Israel. More hotels are expected to open in July.
