Karousos, Demetriades discuss 'innovative practices' with DP World senior officials in Dubai

Ways to attract more cruise ships to the Limassol Port was among the issues Cyprus` Minister of Transport, Yiannis Karousos and Shipping Deputy Minister, Vassilios Demetriades, discussed on Wednesday with senior officials of logistics company DP World in Dubai.

Karousos and Demetriades, who are among the officials accompanying President Nicos Anastasiades, in his visit to Dubai, visited the Port of Jebel Ali,  where they had a meeting with CEO & Managing Director DP World, Abdulla Bin Damithan, and Senior Manager, Government Affairs at DP World, Saeed Al Zari. DP World is operating the Limassol Port`s multi-purpose and Cruise terminal.

Karousos, who, in a tweet said the Port of Jebel Ali "is the flagship of DP World`s portfolio", said that, attracting cruise ships in the port of Limassol and the implementation of innovative practices and new technologies, applied by the company worldwide to optimise the supply chain, were among the topics discussed with the two DP World officials.

He also said that they will continue exchanging views with the DP World senior officials since they have accepted his and Demetriades` invitation within the framework of Maritime Cyprus 2022 conference.
