Police report 6 premises and 22 citizens for violating coronavirus measures

Cyprus Police carried out in the past 24 hours a total of 717 checks to ensure compliance with the measures in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus.

A police officer told CNA that  during the checks between 0600 am on Tuesday until 0600 am on Wednesday, 6 premises and 22 citizens were reported, for violating the relevant law and decrees which mainly concern the use of a protective masks.

In Nicosia 99 checks were carried out during which 6 citizens and  the premises in one case were reported, in Limassol 183 checks during which 2 premises and 5 citizens were  reported, in Larnaca 165 checks with 1 citizen being reported, in Paphos 35 checks with 2 premises and 3 citizens being reported, in Famagusta 145 checks with 4 individuals being reported and in Morphou district 90 checks were carried with 1 premises and 3 individuals being reported.

In addition, 35 checks were carried out at Airports and Ports without reporting any violation.
