Road freight transport increases significantly in 2018

Road freight transport recorded a significant annual increase in 2018, compared with 2017.
 
Figures released on Friday by the Statistical Service on the total weight of goods transported during the period January-December 2018, showed that road freight transport in Cyprus rose by 14.4%, compared with the previous year, whereas road freight transport from and to Cyprus increased by 7.8%.
 
According to Cystat, from October to December 2018, road freight transport in Cyprus was up by 2.0%, compared to the corresponding period of 2017 and road freight transport from and to Cyprus increased by 13.4%.
