Turnover value index in transport and storage records decrease

The Turnover Value Index of Transport and Storage for the second quarter of 2019 recorded a decrease of 2.5% compared to the corresponding quarter of 2018.

According to the Statistical Service, by economic activity, an increase of 5.5% was recorded in warehousing and support activities for transportation, 4.3% in water transport, 3.7% in land transport and 1.4% in postal and courier activities, whereas a decrease of 43.6% was observed in air transport over the corresponding quarter of 2018.

During the period January-June 2019 the Turnover Value Index of Transport and Storage recorded a decrease of 1.3% compared to the corresponding period of 2018.
