The turnover value index of transport and storage reached 88.2 units (base year 2015=100) in the second quarter of 2021, recording a significant increase of 15.6% compared with the corresponding quarter of 2020, the Cyprus Statistical Service announced Friday.
A sharp increase of 327.1% was recorded in air transport, whereas land transport saw an increase of 46.4%, followed by water transport with 30.3% and warehousing and support activities for transportation with 10.1%. A decrease of 2.5% was recorded in postal and courier activities.
According to CyStat's data, between January-June 2021 the turnover value index of transport and storage fell by 8.2% compared with the corresponding period of 2020.
