Tel-Aviv Stock Exchange Vice-Chairman, Dror Shalit, arrives in Cyprus on Monday to meet with CSE and ASE (Athens Stock Exchange) officials as well as FTSE International representatives to discuss the remaining procedural and technical issues regarding the establishment of a regional index, FTSE Med.

Mr. Shalit told StockWatch that the main aim of the meeting is to set a new date for the commencement of the new index and to eliminate the ‘technical difficulties” that have delayed its operation so far.

ASE Chairman, Panayiotis Alexakis, told the Greek Cypriot daily 'Politis' that cooperation among the three bourses will continue irrespective of political developments in Iraq.

In an announcement published on Friday the Cyprus Stock Exchange stated that the goal of Monday's meeting is to finalize details for the establishment of the regional index.
