Voluntary delistment for CSE-listed companies

10/01/2005 14:04
CSE Chairman, Akis Cleanthous expressed the CSE’s decisiveness on Monday to proceed to the delistment of certain companies. Responding to the question of DISY MP, Ionas Nicolaou for the examination of 15 companies with an uncertain future, Mr. Cleanthous said that the CSE Management will not hesitate to delist companies that do not fulfill the conditions and continuous obligations to the investors.

Mr. Cleanthous stressed, however, that the bill will also provide for a “voluntary delistment from the CSE”. In that case, the major shareholders will have to compensate the small.

“The first stage of consolidation has been completed with the separation of the three markets on the basis of quality criteria. The second stage concerns the – full or partial – adoption of the Corporate Governance Code from the companies of the Main and Parallel Market”, Mr. Cleanthous concluded.
