The Ecologists requested on Thursday the expansion of the price observatory to the hotel industry too.
“The handling of the economic crisis by the public coordinator of the economic activity in the sector of tourism is disappointing”, the party stressed.
“The indications show that the CTO is not abreast with the developments and is not aware of what really happens in the tourist industry. Therefore, it fails to take the proper measures for its survival”, the Ecologists noted.
The party also referred to the Commerce Minister’s answer to the Ecologists’ MP, Giorgos Perdikis, on the level of prices of the Cypriot hotels as opposed to a drop in the hotel prices in Greece in 2008, who stated that the CTO doesn’t know whether the prices have dropped and to what extent.
