CTO: Losses of CAIR - Eurocypria close

13/10/2009 11:06
CTO Chairman, Alekos Orountiotis stated on Tuesday that the possible closing of Cyprus Airways or Eurocypria will be exceptionally loss-making for the island’s tourist, especially in this critical period due to the economic crisis and other external factors.

In a CTO announcement, Mr. Orountiotis stressed the importance of the two air carriers for tourism and the need for their survival, since each one of them plays its own important role in the sector of tourism.

“With the cooperation of all parties, we need to find the ‘golden mean’ that will contribute to the viability of the two companies and will safeguard the employees to the benefit of the Cyprus tourism and economy”, Mr. Orountiotis emphasized.
