Higher Demand for Hotels in May

According to the findings of a survey conducted on hotels by the Statistical service in the month of May, demand levels for the month in question were higher than normal in 26% of the hotels, lower than normal for 10%, and normal according to 64%. The results compare unfavorably to the corresponding month in 2000, were higher than normal was reported by 28%, normal demand was reported by 67%, while only 5% expressed lower than normal demand.

Expected demand levels for the next three months are higher than normal according to 31% of hotels, normal for 65%, and lower than normal according to 2%.

As for their prices in the next three months, 48% of the hotels anticipate an increase while the remaining 52% expect them to remain stable. Up to 34% of the hotels will proceed to increase their number employees, while 64% expect their numbers to remain stable.
