Parliamentary Committee on Financial and Budgetary Affairs has released the funds for the government scheme called ESTIA (home) amounting to €33 million aiming to subsidise part of the repayment plan for non-performing housing loans.
The decision was taken by majority vote during a closed-door meeting of the Committee held today at the House of Representatives.
Democratic Rally Party (DISI), Democratic Party (DIKO) and Solidarity Movement voted in favour of releasing the funds while Progressive Party of Working People (AKEL), Movement of Social Democrats( EDEK) and Movement of Ecologists — Citizens` Cooperation voted against.
The independent MP Anna Theologou abstained form voting due to conflict of interest. Citizens` Alliance was not present at the meeting.
