At this point, Hellenic Bank is not in any negotiations for the acquisition of Piraeus Bank (Cyprus) Ltd.
This is what Hellenic Bank said in an announcement released today.
The information and rumors for the acquisition of Piraeus Bank from Hellenic Bank intensified after leaks that specialized consultants are carrying out due diligence to Piraeus Bank Cyprus on the occasion of the banking crisis in Greece.
The CB had repeatedly assured that the Greek subsidiary banks in Cyprus are autonomous and with capital adequacy and there is no reason for concerns.
