European Commission Vice-President Jyrki Katainen visits Cyprus

Jyrki Katainen, European Commission Vice-President Responsible for Jobs, Growth, Investment and Competitiveness, will visit Cyprus on January 27th-28th.

According to a statement, during his visit Vice-President Katainen will meet the President of the Republic Mr Nikos Anastasiades. He will also have meetings with the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mr Dimitris Syllouris, the Minister of Finance Mr Harris Georgiades, and the Minister of Defence Mr Savvas Angelides. Vice-President Katainen will also attend a joint session of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Foreign and European Affairs chaired by Mr Yiorgos Lillikas and the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance and the Budget chaired by Mr Angelos Votsis.

Vice-President Katainen will be the keynote speaker at a dinner hosted by DISY (EPP) Chairman Mr Averof Neofytou.

On Monday, January 28th, Vice-President Katainen will hold a Citizens' Dialogue on the subject of "The Future of Europe and Tomorrow's Megatrends". The event will take place at the Hilton Cyprus Hotel (Ballroom) between 14:30 and 16:00 and is open to the public.
