07/01/2011 10:21
ETYK seems to have reached an agreement with the Bank of Cyprus Management in relation to the latter’s decision to offer a 2-year contract to Group Chief General Manager, Vasos Shiarly after his retirement.

In his statements to StockWatch, Chairman of the trade union, Loizos Hadjicostis said that in a spirit of mutual understanding and concession, the bank and ETYK believe that the issue has been solved.

Mr. Hadjicostis said that they have reached an agreement with the bank and Mr. Shiraly will withdraw after 2011.

The trade union had lodged a complaint against the bank to the Labour Ministry for employing a pensioner and had actually warned with strikes.

Similarly, ETYK had raised an issue for CB Senior Director, Costas Poullis, whose term of office was extended for two years more after his retirement.

ETYK had lodged a complaint against the Central Bank for other issues concerning the evaluation criteria on the promotions and appointments.

“We still have an issue with the CB”, Mr. Hadjicostis told StockWatch.
