During an extraordinary meeting chaired by the President of the Republic, Demetris Christofias today, the Council of Ministers approved the bill on the “Law that amends the consumer tax laws of 2004 to 2010”.
In his written statement, Government Spokesman, Stephanos Stephanou said that the bill will be submitted to the House of Representatives today.
The law, which will increase the retail price of the cigarettes by 20% and the cigars by 30%, is currently promoted to the House and will be approved by the afternoon.
