Parliament rejects proposal for early dissolution

The Cyprus Parliament on Friday rejected a proposal for an early dissolution, following the revelations on the passport scandal and the strong dissaprovement by the public which called for resignments.

Green party MP Giorgos Perdikis and independent MP Anna Theologou submitted the proposal.

Parliament voted 30 to 26 against it.

Parliamentary elections are scheduled for May 2021.
