Party leaders are on hold for the upcoming meeting on the economy.

Invited to comment whether he has received an invitation by the President of the Republic, DISY President, Nicos Anastasiades was negative.

According to Mr. Anastasiades, he has not been informed on the measures being promoted by the government either.

The DISY President welcomed the election results in Greece and expressed the belief that the same spirit of cooperation will prevail for the problems that Cyprus faces.

“There is no doubt that the outcome of the Greek people's verdict gives hope to form a strong pro-European government and at the same time taking great effort to recover and create new prospects for Greece”.

After congratulating Antonis Samaras and New Democracy for their success, Mr. Anastasiades wished that efforts to form a national salvation government will succeed.

“I feel the need to express my warmest congratulations for the courage and determination of both Mr. Venizelos and President of the Democratic Left Mr. Kouvelis for their determination and courage to participate in a call concerning Greece and not the parties», he said, referring to the two parties that might support the government of New Democracy.

“I hope that the same spirit of cooperation will prevail for the problems that Cyprus faces”, he added.

The meeting of the party leaders had been announced by the government on Friday, ahead of difficult decisions to be taken for the economy.
