Authorities announce no new Covid-19 cases after 1,019 tests

Cypriot health authorities announced no new confirmed cases of Covid-19 infections following 1,019 tests, with the total positive cases since March at 999.

A press release issued by the Ministry of Health said that one person continues to be treated in the Famagusta General Hospital, designated as reference hospital for Covid-19.

The health authorities carried out 179 tests in the context of checking 10,000 employees who went back to work during phase B and C of the relaxation of restrictive measures, 21 tests have been completed as part of the contact tracing programme, while 385 tests were carried out after private initiative.

Furthermore, 30 tests were completed in the context of samples taken from passengers and repatriates, 259 tests were carried out by the Microbiological Labs of General Hospitals island-wide and 145 tests were made as part of referrals from personal doctors and special groups screening through the public health centres.
