Authorities announce two COVID-19 cases on Tuesday

Cyprus Health Ministry on Tuesday announced two new COVID-19 cases. The first one is a contact of a person who tested positive yesterday and arrived from the US and the second is a passenger who was asymptomatic and arrived on the island on June 26 from a country included in Caterogy A.
 
The press release by the Ministry says that a total of 1,320 samples were tested today.

29 tests were carried out via the tracking process of confirmed cases and one person was found positive, 385 tests were done on a private initiative and one case was confirmed. More specifically the person is a Cypriot national who arrived on the island June 26 from a Category A country and showed no symptoms but he did the test himself.
 
Moreover, according to the Epidemiological Unit of the Ministry, no cases were confirmed in 93 samples taken in the framework of checking 10,000 employees who went back to work during phase B and C of the relaxation of restrictive measures, zero cases where found via the checking of 403 passengers and repatriates, no cases in 155 tests run by the Microbiological Labs of General Hospitals island-wide, zero cases during the checking program of 5 tests done in migrants and zero cases in 277  tests carried out in the framework of referrals from personal doctors and special groups screening through the public health centers.

The total cases are 998. One patient is hospitalized at the Famagusta Reference Hospital.
