Authorities announced 122 new COVID cases

Cyprus authorities on Tuesday reported 122 new COVID-19 cases bringing the total to 73,832. The positivity rate stands at 0,32%. Health Ministry announced no deaths today while the patients in hospitals are 47 of whom 19 are in serious condition.
The total number of deaths remains 378.

Today`s cases were detected from a total of 37,674 tests ( PCR and rapid).

From the  378 deaths so far in Cyprus, 254 are male  (67%) and 124 are female  (33%) and their median age is 77 years.

From the 19 patients in serious condition, 9 are intubated, 2 are in an ICU and 8 in ACU.

From the  37,674 tests carried out today,  6,289 were done via PCR method and 31,385 were rapid tests.

Today`s cases were detected as follows: 15 from 213 samples taken in the framework of the contact tracing process, 3  from 2,445 tests done at airports, 17 from 2,600 tests done on private initiative,, 6 from 452 samples taken at the Microbiological labs of General Hospitals and 81 from 31,022 rapid tests.

No case was detected among 579 tests done following GP referrals or testing at public clinics and 363 rapid tests done at private labs or pharmacies.

The positivity rate from the rapid tests stands at 0,12% in Nicosia from 11,476 tests, at 0,28% in Limassol from 8,107  tests, at 0,15%  in Larnaka from 3,326 tests, at 0,21% in Paphos from 3,741 tests and at 1,12%  in Famagusta from  2,585 tests.
