Authorities announced 188 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday

Cyprus Health Ministry announced 188 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total to 3,154.

Twenty-two patients are getting treatment at the Famagusta Reference Hospital , 4 of whom are at the Advanced Care Unit (ACU) and 2 more are at the ICU of the Nicosia General Hospital. Another 2 are in a COVID ward.

Today`s cases were detected from a total of 4,304 tests as follows:

From 375  samples from contact tracing, 22 positive cases were detected

From 2,380 tests done on private initiative, 140 people tested positive

From 52 samples at Microbiological Labs, 5 cases were announced

From 152 samples from GP referrals and public clinics, 13 tests came back positive

From 1,069 samples at airports, 7 were positive

From 49 tests done for footballers, 1 was positive

Zero cases were announced from 51 samples at schools, from 44 tests conducted at migrant reception centers, and from 132 tests at retirement homes and other premises.
