Authorities announced 43 COVID-cases on Monday

Cyprus authorities on Monday announced 43 new COVID-19 cases detected, however, from a significantly lower number of tests.

The Health Ministry said that most labs did not conduct any tests yesterday plus no results were given for samples taken from footballers, retirement homes or other premises.

The tests were 2,558 in total and 1,577 were taken at airports.

Nineteen patients are getting treatment in Hospitals island-wide, one in the ACU , two in a serious condition in the ICU of the Nicosia General Hospital and two in a ward in Nicosia General Hospital.

More specifically, the cases were detected as follows:

292 tests from contact tracing with 18 positive cases
217 samples from private initiative with 14 people who tested positive
1,577 samples at airports, 4 positive tests
206 tests done at General Hospitals and 5 people tested positive
212 tests from GP referrals with 2 positive cases

The number of Covid cases in the Cyprus Republic is 2,687 since the start of the pandemic.
