Authorities announced 95 coronavirus cases on Tuesday

Authorities in Cyprus announced on Tuesday another 95 Covid-19 cases out of a total of 25,427 tests, with the positivity rate reaching 0,37%. At the same time 94 Covid-19 patients are in hospital, 35 of whom in a serious condition.

No deaths were announced today with the number of people who died from the disease remaining at 214, of whom 145 are men (68%) and 69 women (32%). The number of confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the Republic of Cyprus has reached 31,959.

In total, 94 patients with Covid-19 are in state hospitals, 35 of whom in a serious condition; Twenty three are treated in an ICU and are intubated while 12 are treated in an Increased Care Unit.

Out of the total 25,427 tests completed today, 1,559 were by PCR method and 23,868 by antigen rapid test, with 95 people testing positive for Covid-19.

Out of 204 samples through the contact tracing method 24 people tested positive, out of 624 samples taken on private initiative 6 people tested positive, out of 244 samples from the General Hospitals Microbiology Labs 12 people tested positive, out of 708 antigen rapid tests completed in private labs 7 people tested positive, while out of 23,160 samples tested by antigen rapid test in the framework of a Ministry of Health programme 46 people tested positive.

At the same time, no one tested positive out of 130 samples taken at the Larnaca and Pafos airports, 52 samples of people who have arrived in Cyprus from the UK are in mandatory quarantine and were tested on the 7th day from their arrival and 305 samples tested following referrals by GPs and the screening of special groups of people through public health centre’s.
