Authorities announced one new COVID-19 case

Cyprus authorities announced on Sunday one new confirmed COVID-19 case out of 1,085 tests completed.

The total number of coronavirus cases reported in Cyprus reaches 1,038.

A press release issued by the Ministry of Health says that the new case was found out of 44 samples taken in the framework of contact tracing of a confirmed case, announced on July 13. The confirmed case concerns a Gym employee.

According to the Epidemiological Monitoring Unit, no positive cases were found out of 35 tests conducted in the framework of the programme for 10,000 employees who returned to their jobs during the second and third phase of easing of the restrictive measures.

Additionally, no positive case was found out of 600 tests on passengers and repatriates and out of 63 samples made on private initiative.

Also, 195 tests of special groups and of individuals tested on references made by their doctors were found negative to the Covid – 19, while no new case was found out of 148 tests conducted in General Hospital’s laboratories.
