Cyprus announced 1.794 new COVID cases on Sunday

Cyprus Health Ministry on Sunday announced 1.794 new COVID cases from a total of 86.413 tests and 162 hospitalizations. Positivity rate stands at 2,08%.  Total deaths are 823 and cases reached  306.219. Ministry said that 38 patients are in serious condition, one is breathing without a ventilator, 12 are intubated and 25 are in an ACU. Figures show that  66,67%  of the patients are unvaccinated.

Today  7.091 PCR tests were carried out and 173 cases were detected (positivity rate 2,44%.  Rapid tests are 79.322 and 1.621 new cases were diagnosed (positivity rate 2,04%.

In the framework of contact tracing  1.228 rapid tests were conducted and 52 cases were diagnosed (positivity rate 4,23%) , on private initiative  1.224 PCR tests were conducted and 126 cases were detected (positivity rate 10,29%)  and 28.884 rapid tests with  732 cases (positivity rate  2,53%). A total of 50.438 rapid tests were done in the framework of the Ministry's program and 889 cases were diagnosed. At testing units 47.119 rapid tests were conducted and 826 cases were detected (positivity rae 1,75%).

In nursing homes 52 rapid tests were done and no case was detected and in closed units from a total of 2.039 rapid tests , 11 cases were detected (positivity rate 0,54%).
