Cyprus most likely to receive first batch of Moderna vaccines on Tuesday night

Cyprus is most likely to receive the first batch of Moderna vaccines on Tuesday evening, a Health Ministry source has told the Cyprus News Agency. Moderna earlier today announced that the rollout has began to the EU and  the Εuropean Economic Area.

To begin with, Cyprus is expected to receive 1,200 doses of the COVID vaccine and within the first three months of 2021 the doses will reach 16,500.

The Moderna vaccine got the authorisation from the European Medicines Agency for inoculation of persons 18 and above. Authorisation was also given in the US, Canada, Britain and Israel.
