Cyprus reports 4 deaths and 1,047 new COVID cases

Cyprus’ Health Ministry on Friday announced that during the week of 17-23 March four people passed away from COVID and 1,074 new cases were reported.

The deceased are four males and one female aged between 78 and 94 years.

The total number of people who lost their lives from the disease since the pandemic broke out rose to 1,345.

The Ministry said that 42 people are receiving treatment in public hospitals and 2 are intubated in serious condition in an ICU.

A total of 57,858 tests were carried out last week resulting in 1,047 new cases, bringing the total since the pandemic broke out to 654,714.

Positivity rate is now at 1.81%.
