Diagnostic tests continue amid government plans to enter 2nd phase of lockdown easing

Sample diagnostic tests continue for the ten thousand employees in hairdressing saloons, barber shops, beauty salons, tattoo parlours and restaurants as the second phase of further relaxation in coronavirus restrictions come into force on 21st May.

Spot checks for these businesses which re-open in the second phase of lifting the restrictive measures began yesterday, 18 May and will be completed on 5th June.

A total of 7.500 tests will be held at employees in the catering field and 2.500 tests for employees at hairdressing saloons, barber shops, beauty salons, tattoo parlours.

People working in the above sectors can contact the laboratory of their choice to make an appointment.

Testing also continues at schools as part of the programme to test 20,000 students and staff. Emphasis is placed in the schools were COVID-19 cases were confirmed.
