Health Ministry announces seven new confirmed cases of COVID-19

The Ministry of Health announced Sunday evening seven new confirmed cases of people who contracted the new coronavirus (COVID-19).

A relevant announcement says that according to the latest information by the Cyprus Institute of Neurology and Genetics (CING), five people with COVID-19, who returned from the United Kingdom and remained confined at home, contacted authorities after symptoms started to appear. Two more cases are also confined at home, after having close contact with a confirmed case detected recently.

The Epidemiological Surveillance Unit of the Ministry of Health started tracking down their contacts and will take samples for specialized tests, the announcement concludes.

The total number of confirmed cases reached 33, while another 6 cases were detected in the Turkish-occupied part of Cyprus.
