Thirty people and 23 premises' owners charged by Police for violations of COVID-19 measures

A total of 30 persons and 23 premises` owners were charged by the Police during the last 24 hours for violations of COVID-19 restrictive measures.

The Police probed 1.158 premises island wide and charged 30 people for not wearing face masks and 23 owners of various premises for violating the decrees in place for COVID-19.

In Nicosia the Police carried out 97 checks and issued charges against 6 premises and 7 persons. One cafeteria was fined with 8,000 euro for violating the decree on the allowed persons to be served. In Limassol the checks  were 314 with charges against 8 premises and 11 people, in Larnaka 281checks were made and the Police charged 3 premises and 3 persons.

In Paphos the Police carried out 139 checks and charges were made against 5 premises and 7 persons, in Famagusta 215 checks were made with charges against 2 persons and one owner of a business . In Morphou 112 checks were made and no charges were issued.

Moreover, 5 passengers were charged at Larnaka airport for not filling out the Cyprus flight pass. The Port Police carried out 19 checks and no violations were reported.
