A total of 259,089 inoculations have been made by 27 of April

A total of 259,089 inoculations against COVID19  (29,4 doses per 100 inhabitants) have been made in Cyprus by the 27th of April, the Ministry of Health said on Wednesday.

It added that  6,314 new vaccination appointments have been arranged until 15.00 on Wednesday for citizens of 41 years of age.

The vaccination portal for this age will close at 20.00.

According to the Ministry of Health, there have been 259,089 inoculations against COVID19  (29,4 doses per 100 inhabitants) by the 27th of April. According to ECDC, the 193,882 (24,1%) concern vaccinations with the first dose and the  65,207 (7,9%) with both doses.

The Ministry says that the vaccination centers across Cyprus will work longer hours to cover up to 14,000 inoculations per day.

It also notes that Cyprus has surpassed the aim to cover 45 year olds in April since tomorrow it begins vaccination coverage for the age group 30-39.

On Thursday the 29th of April priority in the vaccination portal will be given to the age group 39-40, on Friday 30 of April to 68-70 year olds and on Tuesday 4 of May to the age group 37-38.

The vaccination portal will be open between 7.30am to 20.00 for those age groups who want to arrange an appointment.

Next openings of the vaccination portal will be announced at a later stage.
