Costopoulos Ioannis
Biography
Mr. Costopoulos holds a BSc Honours in Economics from the University of Southampton, U.K. and an MBA from the University of Chicago, U.S.A.
From 1979 to 1982 he worked with Procter & Gamble in Geneva, Switzerland. From 1982 to 1986 he held VP and Director’s positions in Corporate and Investment Banking at the Chase Manhattan Bank in New York and London. From 1986 to 1991 he was a Principal at Booz Allen & Hamilton based in London, working on strategy development and organizational change projects.
Returning to Greece in 1991, he assumed a number of senior management positions : CEO of Metaxa S.A. subsidiary of U.K.’s Diageo (1991-1996), CEO of Johnson & Johnson Hellas S.A. and Regional Director of Johnson & Johnson Central and Eastern Europe (1997 – 2000) and Senior Advisor at EFG Eurobank (2000 – 2001). From 2001 to 2003 he was Vice Chairman and CEO of Petrola Hellas S.A. until its merger with Hellenic Petroleum S.A. He is currently an Executive Board Member of Hellenic Petroleum S.A. and a Member of its Executive, Strategic and Finance Committees and oversees the Finance and the Business Development Functions of the Group.
He is also a Member of the General Council of the Greek Industries Federation and a Member of the Scientific Council of the Foundation for Economic & Industrial Research.
