Biography
Born on 19 October 1961 in Nicosia.
He belongs to the third generation of a family engaged in the trading of fresh fish. For almost 20 years he has been the Managing Director and Director of the family business “Zaloumis Fish Market Ltd”, which deals in the retail sale of fish in Nicosia and catering throughout Cyprus.
Giorgos Zaloumis’ vision has always been the modernization and upgrading of services offered to customers and the implementation of the strictest hygienic standards at all stages in the trading of fresh fish.
In this framework, Zaloumis Fish Market Ltd cooperated with Blue Island Plc and its merging with Blue Island Plc took place on 27 August 1999 with the acquisition of Zaloumis Fish Market by Blue Island Plc.
He is member of the Board of Directors and Vice Chairman of Executive Board of Directors of Blue Island Plc. Also, he is Chairman of the Board of Blue Fisheries Ltd, which is active in the Fry Production for the needs of the Fish Farm of Blue Island Plc and other customers in Cyprus and abroad.
