Company Description

The company was founded in it's initial form in 1949, by Mr Charilaos Apostolides.

On May 27th 1969, a limited company under the name of "Charilaos Apostolides & Co Ltd" was registered as an International Building and Civil Engineering Contractor.

In 1976, the company's activities were expanded to include the production and distribution of ready-mix concrete with the formation of Getian General Services Ltd (today 100% subsidiary).

Also, in 1976, due to the repercussions brought about by the Turkey's invasion of Cyprus the company proceeded with its international expansion plan by signing its first contract in Iraq.

International activity reached new level in the Arab Gulf when in 1982 Charilaos Apostolides (Bahrain) W.L.L. was incorporated in the State of Bahrain in co-operation with the House of YBA Kanoo, one of the biggest and most dynamic organisations in the greater area. Since then, the company has been performing its activities and right up until today is positively contributing towards the further development of the group.

In 1993, Chapomed Ltd was incorporated to undertake and implement specialised projects dealing with mechanical and electrical engineering.

In 1998 is expanding in the field of manufacturing and placement of asphalt products.

During 2000, the company became a Public limited Company and on November 13th 2000 its shares were listed in the Cyprus Stock Exchange.

At the beginning of 2001 the company was awarded the International Certificate of Quality assurance ISO 9902 for the whole of its operations.

In mid 2001 the subsidiary companies (100%) CHAPO SA in Greece and CHAPO (UK) Ltd in the United Kingdom, were incorporated, commencing the Group's its new development course.
