Cyprus and USA relations are at their best

Relations between Cyprus and the USA are at their best, said President Anastasiades during a meeting with a delegation of AHEPA (American Hellenic Educational Progressive Association), which was held on Friday at the Presidential Palace, in Nicosia, according to a statement issued by the Deputy Governmental Spokesperson, Niovi Parisinou.                                                                             

During the meeting, President Anastasiades thanked AHEPA for its contribution to the deepening of the strategic partnership between the two countries and informed the delegation about the Cyprus issue, his proposal about the CBMs (Confidence Building Measures), and the necessity to resolve the issue on the basis of international law, the Security Council resolutions and the European acquis, according to the statement.

He also spoke about the illegal Turkish actions in the Cyprus EEZ and Famagusta and discussed the Ukrainian issue, stressing the need for the international law to prevail.
